|
Q. |
Are you digital
yet? |
A. |
No |
|
|
Q. |
Why not digital? |
A. |
Thats like
asking an oil painter why he/she doesn't paint in water color.
They are just very different mediums. I have nothing against digital,
I just love film. |
|
|
Q. |
What kind
of camera do you use. |
A. |
I have several
different kinds and sizes of film cameras. I use 35mm Nikons up
to 8x10 Deardorffs and Wehmans, and a little of everything else
inbetween. |
|
|
Q. |
How do you
make the horses pose, or how many times do you make the horse
run. |
A. |
Basically,
I don't make the horses do anything, nor do I orchestrate any
images of horses. All of my images of horses are photographs of
ranch horses without any setting up or posing. I basically try
to stay out of the way while cowboys and cowgirls wrangle in several
head of horses. There are a couple of exceptions when I had some
cowboys and cowgirls run for me on some earlier work. |

|
Q. |
Do you use
filters. |
A. |
Yes and No.
The filters I use are for color correcting and/or polarizing.
When one sees a nice and unbelievable image, there is a misperception
that the photographer must of used a magical enhancing filter
or computers. This may be true for some, but most photographers
believe additional filtration is not needed to capture nature's
colors. Especially when nature's at it's best. I don't think it
makes much sense to put a $20 piece of plastic over a $1000+ lens.
There are exceptions to some of my earlier work, as I have used
warming filters at times when they may not have been necessary.
(I get bored somtimes) |

|
Q. |
Do you frame
your own work? |
A. |
Yes. I only
use the best materials, which consist of conservation matting
and museum glass. |
|
